Trigger Relays with Contact Closure

Our Contact Closure Boards are equipped with firmware built into the board that will allow you to read inputs or trigger relays.  Monitor inputs by sending a couple of bytes of data to a Scan Series Controller and the controller will send back a value indicating the current status. Control a relay remotely with our popular MirC and MirX controllers that have two separate controllers that work together as a married pair. Contact Closures on local relay control relays on the remote controller. Reactor Relays can be controlled by a contact closure or by the included software.

Our Scan Series is ideal for reading motion detectors, glass breakage detectors, window/door open detectors, light switches, and other kinds of devices with a contact closure output. This Board is capable of controlling up to 256 Relays through the XR Expansion Port.

Reactor Relay Controllers are configured using the included Reactor Configuration Utility. Once configured, the controller works without a computer connected, allowing analog inputs to trigger relays according to the configuration. Ideal for Reading Detectors

Our Scan Series is ideal for reading motion detectors, glass breakage detectors, window/door open detectors, light switches, and other kinds of devices with a contact closure output. Contact Closure Input is a vital part of just about any control system. Our Scan Series Boards allow you to read 16, 32, or 48 switches per Board and can be expanded using our ScanSwitch Series UXP Expansion Boards (see below). Multiple ScanSwitch expansion modules are easily chained together to read up to 256 Contact Closure Inputs per board.

Contact Closure Relay

Control relays with the Scan Series controllers. Using the onboard XR Expansion Port you can add up to 256 relays to any of the Scan Series boards.

Computer Interfaces Available

Contact Closure Input Boards are available in with many computer interfaces. USB, RS232, Bluetooth Wireless, 802.15.4 Wireless, Long Range XSC Wireless and ZB ZigBee Mesh Networking interfaces are all available in the Scan Series.

Here's How It Works

To monitor a contact closure, simply connect the Scan Series controller to your computer.  The controller will mount as a COM port.  Open the COM port.  Next, you will send a couple of bytes of data to the Scan series controller, requesting input detection. The Controller will report back a value from 0-255, indicating the current status of the inputs on a selected bank in binary form.

NCD Component Library

Fully functioning programs for Scan Series and motion detectors are included with the NCD Component Library. With the NCD Component Library we've "started" the programming for you. We say started because these are fully functioning samples but we've also included the source code so you can customize them to your exact needs.  The NCD Component Library is a plug-in for the Visual Studio 2005/2008 that greatly simplifies the communications to the NCD product line.  The samples can be run in Visual Studio and fully customizable to your needs.  Start by downloading the FREE NCD Component Library from the NCD Component Library Page and you will be communicating with any NCD device faster that ever!
