Introducing the M1 motor controller from NCD. The first low-cost, high-power Hexfet DC motor driver capable of commanding speed and direction of a DC motor from an RS-232 data source.

Using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), up to 64 different motor speeds may be selected for forward and reverse operation. Hexfet technology ensures solid-state reliability, small footprint, and very low heat dissipation. Other features include logic lockout, software braking, and 1200 or 9600 baud operation.

Based on the NCD-110, this device can be chained with up to 15 other NCD devices using the NCD-110 architecture.  Network the M1 on  a single serial port with our 8-Relay controller, AD8 A/D converter, and much more.

The RSB booster may be required when driving several NCD products from a serial port. The M1 is capable of driving a single high-power DC motor rated at 4 amps continuous current, 9-12 volts DC.

Notes:

Speed fluctuations will occur in proportion to the load placed on the motor. If this product is to be used for robotics, speed adjustments will be required based on terrain traveled and battery life. These adjustments can easily be handled in software. When driving high-power loads, locate controller as close to the motor as possible.
