Ethernet Mir-X Relays
Unique Contact Closure Switching

Mir-X Relays are equipped with firmware built into the board that will allow contact closure inputs to control contact closure outputs in a remote location. The Mir-X Relays are sold in pairs and each device has contact closure inputs and relays, what's different is that the contact closure inputs control the relays on the other device.  This easily allows contact closure switching in a remote location through an Ethernet connection.

No Set-up, No Configuration...
Works Right Out of the Box!

Setup for the MXNET versions is the same as the MIRXR45 shown above except the NXNET is connected to the internet through an Ethernet connection. The two MXNET boards can be located anywhere in the world and can find each other as long as each has a connection to the internet.

The Simplicity of MirX, The Power of .NET

Inputs on Each Controller Control the Relays at the Other Controller
Controllers Communicate over a LAN or Internet via Ethernet Connection
Controllers Will Find Each Other No Matter Where They are in the Entire World

Two Boards Working Together

Every MirX controller is equipped with contact closure inputs and outputs. The inputs on one controller activate the relays on the remote device using wireless communications. The "X" in MirX refers to the crossover. Since both devices are equipped with contact closure inputs and relays, each device targets and controls the remote device.

MirX devices are only sold as a permanently married pair, pricing shown on our web site indicates pricing for the pair of controllers.

Range:

MCNET pairs can communicate to each other from anywhere in the world using an internet connection. No Static IP Address is required. Simply plug the Ethernet and Power Cords in and give them a few minutes to find each other. After you wire the controlled devices in, you can control billboard lights in India, Runway Lights at an Airport, or simply lock your front door from the office.

Relay Options

Wired Mir-X devices feature SPDT & SPST and Solid State relays in four different amperage options and are available with the same number of contact closure inputs as there are relays installed on the device.  Contact Closure Inputs may only be connected to switches, buttons, or sensors with Contact Closure capability.  Not suitable for use in voltage detection applications.

Who's Qualified to Use the Mir-X Series?

While anyone can use the Mir-X Relays the configuration software and using the Networking capabilities of this interface requires an understanding of Networking.

Relay Status

Each device is also equipped with LEDs that display the status of the remote relay. Status information is verified using 2-way communications. If communication is lost between the two devices, the sending device will turn off the LED. Additionally, every MirX controller is equipped with a Busy/Ready LED. If the Busy LED flashes, this indicates the remote device has successfully received and accepted your contact closure status. If the Busy LED does not flash, the remote device is out of range.

Communication Between Boards

The MXNET MirX Devices will work on a local area network as well as across internet. There are redundant communication channels between the two boards, as long as one of them is able to make connection, the boards will work. When two modules are in the same local area network, they can communicate to each other directly without a Mirror Server. No Internet connection is required.

Connection Through Mirror Server

When two mirror modules are located in different networks, they can talk to each other through the NCD Mirror Server. Mirror modules can connect to up to four servers at the same time. As long as one of the servers can be connected to, the mirror modules will work. You can use the preloaded servers or you can use the Configuration Utility to customize the board with your own server and three backup servers.
The server can be setup inside a local area network as long as both modules are able to access it.

The "ConfigureUtility" is used to configure the mirror modules. This program can list all available modules in the same local area network. There is a connection symbol for paired devices.

Multiple Mir-X Pairs?

Multiple Mir-X Controllers can be used in one locations. One Pair of Mir-X controllers will not interfere with another Mir-X pair as they are isolated through the way they are designed. Mir-X Devices are paired together before shipment and will only communicate to each other, for this reason they will not interfere with other Mir-X controllers.

A Mir-X controller has as many inputs as it has Relays. So a pair of 4 relay Mir-X controllers will have 4 relays on each board and 4 inputs on each board which are used for controlling the relays on the opposite Board, the same holds true for 1, 2, and 8 relay versions.

Time Schedule Graphic Mir-X 8-Input Screw Terminal - 8 inputs are only available on 8-Channel Mirx boards

Relay Outputs

Time Schedule Graphic Mir-X 4-Output Screw Terminal with Normally Open, Normally Closed and Common are available for each relay. 20 and 30 amp boards will connect directly to the relays. The 30 amp is a SPST relay and only has Common and normally open.  For more click here

Mir-X Controllers have 1, 2, 4, or 8 Relays integrated into the circuit board. A relay is similar to a switch. The only difference between a switch and a relay is the actual mechanism for changing the on/off status of the switch. On a switch, you manually push on a piece of metal or plastic to operate the switch. On a relay, an electric current is used to operate the switch. Relays do NOT provide a voltage output. They provide a contact closure output, exactly like the terminals found on a light switch at your local hardware store. Wiring to a relay will be slightly different depending on the model of Mir-X controllers you choose.

Attention: No Voltage Input

Please Note: Users must NEVER apply any voltage to an input on the Mir-X controller, these inputs are for Contact Closure connections only.
