ScanSwitch is an expansion module that connects to a UXP or Ultra Series controller with version 2.0 or later firmware. To use this device, simply connect the ScanSwitch to any available UXP or Ultra Port. Next, you will send a couple of bytes of data to the Ultra series controller, requesting input detection. The Ultra Controller will report back a value from 0-255, indicating the current status of the inputs on a selected bank in binary form.

Add Expansion Modules up to 256 input channels
Expansion modules available in 16, 32 and 48 channel boards
Add Contact Closure Detector to any UXP Port
Switch Closure Input is a vital part of just about any control system. Our ScanSwitch expansion modules allow you to read 16, 32, or 48 switches per expansion module. Multiple expansion modules are easily chained together to read more inputs. For instance, if you need your computer to monitor 64 switches, you can use two USCS32 ScanSwitch expansion modules (connected end to end) to read your switches. You cannot daisy chain different types of applications to the same controller however. In other words if you plug in a Contact Closure you will not be able to plug a Potentiometer or A/D module. You will not be able to plug a Contact Closure expansion into a A/D board or Potentiometer. For controllers that are equipped with a UXP Expansion port (and are suitable master devices for UXP Series Expansion) simply look for UXP in the part number. All Contact Closure Expansion Modules have an input and an output so you can simply daisy chain the boards together until you reach the number of contacts you are looking for up to a total of 256.
Ideal for Reading Detectors
ScanSwitch is ideal for reading motion detectors, glass breakage detectors, window/door open detectors, light switches, and other kinds of devices with a contact closure output.
