USB Relay
Control By Onboard USB Interface

USB Relay Controllers allow computer controlled switching using the USB port of your computer. An NCD USB Relay Board emulates a COM port, allowing you to speak to the relay board using any programming language that supports serial communications. COM drivers allow you to assign any COM port to the USB Relay Board. An NCD USB Relay Driver supports 8-Channels of 8-Bit / 10-Bit Analog to Digital Conversion (A/D) or UXP Expansion Port, and includes an XR Relay Expansion Port for adding additional relays to the USB Relay Controller Board.

USB Relay Options

USB Relays are available with SPDT 5, 10 and 20 amp, SPST 30 amp and DPDT 1, 3 & 5 amp relays installed.

USB Relay with the Industry Leading Command Set

Selecting The USB Interface

By selecting the USB interface you will be sending commands through the USB port of your computer to the board.  Boards on this page are equipped with a ZUSB communications module that adds USB communications to the board.  A command consists of a few bytes of data in numerical format usually between 2 and 6 bytes.  Once the command has been received, the controller processes the command and the relay activates.

Selecting a USB Relay Board

Below you will find the 16-channel USB Relay Controllers that are available.  The difference being the amperage of the relays installed and the type of relay.  Choose the controller that fits the amperage you are switching.  You will find SPDT relays in the 5, 10 and 20 amp versions and an SPST version in the 30 amp version.  For more information on selecting the correct relay for your application see Choosing a Proper Amperage.

Selecting a USB Relay Series

The -Channel boards are available in the ProXR versions.  The boards have firmware installed and accept the ProXR command set.  The ProXR Command Set is the industry leading command set for controlling relays.  All ProXR controllers are expandable to 256 relays.  When you find your controller click on the Full Description link to view full specs, watch setup videos, download software and purchase.

More USB Relay Options

Find the board you need by using the interactive menu to he right.  Hover over the Button and select the number of relays you want installed.  Once there simply select the board with the correct amperage for the item you are switching.

USB Relay - ProXR

Our ProXR USB Relay Boards offer your choice of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 amp relays and are available in many channel versions with your choice of eight channel 8/10-BitAnalog to Digital Conversion or UXP Expansion Port on selected models, look for AD or UXP in the part number. All are of course SignalSwitch compatible.  Most USB Relays feature theProXR Command Set (except for the Reactor, Key Fob or Taralist series which do not need to be programmed) and an XR Expansion Port, simply look for PROXR in the part number.  The XR Expansion Port will allow you to expand any ProXR model board to 256 relays using our XR Expansion Modules.  The UXP port will allow you to add Analog to Digital Expansion Modules, Contact Closure Input Modules or Digital Potentiometers to any UXP board.  For more on A/D Conversion and UXP Expansion see below.

USB Relay - ProXR Lite

The ProXR command set has been available in our controllers since 2004 and have been widely used. We now offer the full ProXR Command set in a high functioning low cost relay and for the first time a 1 channel USB controller.  The ProXR Lite series is NOT expandable, although the firmware still thinks 256 relays are available. The relay portion of the controller only responds to the first 1, 2, 4 or 8 relays in bank 1. We did NOT skip the Analog Input portion of the ProXR Lite. All ProXR lite controllers offer a 8-Channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Converter in addition to relay control. The ProXR Lite responds to the same firmware as the ProXR series controllers and is therefore 100% compatible with any applications designed to work with a ProXR series controller.

USB Relay - Reactor Series

The USB Reactor Relay Series controllers represent the worlds first relay controller capable of making its own intelligent decisions based on user input.  The USB Reactor Relay Series controllers are configured using our free Configuration Utility - no programming needed.  Once configured, the controller works without a computer connected, allowing analog inputs to trigger relays according to the configuration. The USB Reactor Relay was developed to address the needs of customers who need a controller capable of making intelligent decisions without a computer.  Live USB Reactor Relays are configured using a standard USB cable.  Once configured, the Reactor will work on its own.  At any time, a remote computer may read analog inputs and take control of the relays.  The remote computer can later return control back to the Reactor logic.

USB Relay - Time Activated

The Taralist series Time Activated Relay Controllers are unlike any other relay timer in the world. The Taralist series have an integrated battery backed Real Time Clock with memory that allows users to control relays based on a time schedule. Connect the controller to your computer with a standard USB cable to setup the time schedule and store your schedule into the Taralist controller - no programming needed. Once stored, the Taralist does not require a computer, and will activate relays according to a schedule that can be as simple or as complex as your application requires.
