ProXR - The Most Powerful Relays Available!
RS-232 ProXR Relay Controller
This ProXR controller is built with the most powerful command set available anywhere. Put simply, ProXR is a standardized set of commands for controlling relays. This controller is also equipped with Analog to Digital conversion which is simply converting a voltage in the range of 0 to 5VDC into a number that can be processed by custom software that you develop. The applications are limitless and the data that you receive such as light levels and temperature levels can easily activate relays when A/D levels are reached. See more on A/D Conversion below.
This ProXR Lite series controller connects to the RS-232 port of your computer and requires a 12VDC Power Supply. Once powered up, the relay controller waits for a command. A command consists of a few bytes of data. Usually between 2 and 6 bytes. Once the command has been received, the controller processes the command, and sends you back ASCII character code 85 to signal the completion of your command.

Choose the connection that fits your needs. The ZRS-A connection is recommended for applications where hard wiring directly to the board is needed. ZRS-B has the fill 9-Pin RS-232 connector on the board. The ZRS-AB Has the fill 9-Pin connector but is is located off the board for applications where the board may be place inside an enclosure an the RS-232 connector needs to reach to the side of the enclosure. You can choose one of these connection options at checkout. |

SPST Relay Installed
This device has SPST relays installed. SPST Single Pole Single Throw Relays simply connect two wires together. The Common (COM) is the moving part of the relay that comes in contact with the Normally Open (NO) when the coil to the relay is energized. Most of our customers write their own program for controlling these devices and use almost any language to do this. This boards supports the Serial Port Profile, meaning they will mount to the computer as a virtual com port making it very easy to send commands to the device. Unlike it's big brother, the ProXR Series, the ProXR Lite series controllers are NOT expandable. The firmware still thinks 256 relays are available but the relay portion of the controller only responds to the first 1, 2, 4 or 8 relays in Bank 1.Read Analog Sensors
We did NOT skip the Analog Input portion of the ProXR Lite. All ProXR Lite controllers offer a 8-Channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Converter in addition to relay control. Read and control from 8 sensors per board from 0 to 5 volts. Look for more on this below.Full ProXR Enhanced Firmware Installed
This board has ProXR Firmware installed that responds to the full ProXR Command Set - it's just not expandable. A/D Conversion on the
Analog to Digital Conversion allows you to read voltage levels from 0-5 volts using 8-bit or 10-bit resolution. This is particularly useful for reading temperature sensors (one temperature sensor is built into select boards mostly 4 & 8 channel, shared with analog input number 8). A/D Inputs are also useful for reading light level sensors, thermocouples, switch closures, or just about any other kind of sensor you can think of.A/D Sample Programs Available
