UXP I/O Expansion + ProXR Relay Control on the Wireless Network!!!

Wireless Network Data Collection and Relay Control Leaps Ahead into Today's Networks!!!

Imagine computer controlled switching and data collection from anywhere on your local area network...or from anywhere in the world!!!  This device is capable of UXP Expansion devices and controlling up to 256 external relays using the XR expansion port over your local area Wi-Fi network.

Simply Network this Wi Fi Board to your computer and power up the device. In no time you'll be talking to the board and any attached Expansion Boards.
With no extra Programming you can talk to our Networking Boards via the Internet using SignalSwitch.com, without a dedicated computer for the board.

RealPort Virtual COM Port drivers map a Network IP address to a COM port on your network...allowing you to control this device as though it were directly connected to a serial port on your PC.  So network control is now as easy as speaking to a COM port on your local computer....except this device works over the network.  This device also supports Telnet and Data Encryption with Password Protection.  This device includes a Digi Connect Wi-ME Wireless Network Interface and Embedded Web Server from www.digi.com.

If you are new to our products, we would like to introduce to you is a term we call "ProXR".  ProXR refers to a set of standardized commands used for computer control and data collection.  A controller that supports the ProXR command set is a controller that is built to control up to 256 relays, using commands that can be sent to any controller that offers ProXR compatibility.  This allows software developers to create programs for our products, then upgrade or change connectivity options without having to rewrite their software.  ProXR commands can be sent to our controllers via the RS-232 serial port, the USB port, Wireless ZigBee, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 802.11b...all without rewriting your software....simply develop your programs to work with the serial port of your computer.  Let ProXR controllers manage the rest.

Building a solid foundation for future hardware is what ProXR is all about.  We have worked hard to modularize the ProXR firmware in such a way that it can support growth of features without sacrificing backward compatibility.  Most controllers produced from 2007 onward will support our ProXR command set.  These controllers will also include a XR Expansion Port, allowing you to add relays to any controller you choose.  So if your needs for computer control increase, our controllers will be ready for your growth.

With all the control and backward/forward compatibility you have come to expect from the ProXR series command set, this controller allow you to send simple commands to activate relays, read the status of relays, activate up to 16 relay timers, and control up to 256 total relays using the XR expansion port.  All relays are electronically latched, simply send a command to turn the relay on, send a different command to turn the relay off.

2007 marks the release of the second generation of ProXR controllers.  New features for the Series include 8 channels of Analog to Digital Conversion, as well as many improved algorithms that allow ProXR controllers to execute your commands faster.  2007 was the year we Modularized the ProXR command set...it is now ready for future generations of growth...so be on the lookout.

UXP Expansion Port Adds I/O Expansion Capabilities as your computer control needs continue to grow.

Above we show the expandability of Our ProXR Series controllers with Built-In UXP Universal Expansion Ports. Our UXP Expansion Modules allow you to add A/D Converters, Contact Closure Inputs, or Potentiometer Outputs to this device. Along with this these boards also have the built in XR Expansion Ports Capable of controlling up to 256 relays from just one board. Whether you need power switching or DPDT signal switching, the ProXR Series with UXP Ports are built from the ground up with Expansion in mind
View our UXP Expansions or our XR Expansions to see all available options.

This ProXR series controller offers Wi-Fi 802.11b communications, and includes a 12VDC Power Supply.  A enclosure is also available for this device (add device to your shopping cart to see other options).  Once powered up, the relay controller waits for a command.  A command consists of a few bytes of data.  Usually between 2 and 6 bytes.  Once the command has been received, the controller processes the command, and sends you back ASCII character code 85 to signal the completion of your command.

You can send commands to activate relays, deactivate relays, control all the relays at one time, plus you can send commands that tell a relay to turn on for a few seconds, minutes, or hours.  You can assign 16 timers to any of the 256 relays, and set the timers to go off after the duration has expired.

We have also added a Server Reboot Pulse timing feature that is particularly useful for rebooting up to 16 servers.  It works like this.  Connect the RESET wires on your motherboard to the Normally Open and Common connections on any of the 256 possible relays.

Next, send a command to the relay controller to activate one of the 16 Server Reboot timers.  You can specify hours, minutes, and seconds as part of the command.  Your program should constantly reset the clock built into the relay controller.  If the computer ever crashes, it cannot reset the clock built into the relay controller.  When the timer expires on the relay controller, the relay will send a reboot pulse to any of the 256 relays, rebooting your computer.

The features list of the ProXR series controllers is extensive.  Our ProXR Software helps get you acquainted with the powerful command set.  Should you have any questions, please contact us.

When placed in a sealed enclosure, this device generates enough heat to keep itself warm and is therefore capable of running at extremely low temperatures.  The lower temperature limit of this device has not been determined.  This device is rated to run at a maximum temperature of 70 C at up to 75% Non-Condensing Humidity.
