Mirror Modules will change the way you look at computer control FOREVER.  If you like our products, but don't want to use a computer to control them, then consider using a Mirror Module instead of a computer!

Mirror Modules have many features, but their primary function is to act as a remote control for our extensive line of relay controllers.

Mirror Modules have built-in contact closure inputs.  When these inputs are connected together, the Mirror Module generates control commands used to activate relays in a remote location.

Mirror Modules are compatible with ALL NCD relay controllers.

MIR8RSENC:

The device shown above is the RS-232 serial version of the Mirror Module.  It is ideal for controlling any of our RS-232 relay controllers.  This device, by itself, it capable of controlling up to 8 relays via an RS-232 serial connection up to 1,000 feet away using only 2 wires between the Mirror Module and the Remote Relay Controller.

Other features include 7 channels of analog input, capable of activating lights when it gets dark outside, or heaters when it gets too cold outside.  You set the on/off threshold using our Refractor Software (the utility used to configure Mirror Modules).

Motion Mode allows the Mirror Module to directly interface to all contact closure based motion detectors for remote activation of lights for preset periods of time.

All Mirror Modules include an expansion port, allowing you to connect additional contact closure inputs for controlling larger relays controllers, up to 256 input/relay control total capacity.

Wireless versions of the Mirror Module are also available.  Optional Enclosure Also Available.  Compatible with All Ultra Series Contact Closure Expansion Modules, Compatible with ALL NCD RS-232 Relay Controllers.  QS12 Quick Start Kit is REQUIRED for Initial Configuration.  Requires Windows XP Home, Professional, Vista or Later Operating Systems.  TO SEE OTHER PRODUCT OPTIONS, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN.

Getting Started with Mirror Modules

It all starts with Refractor, our free software that allows you to configure the Mirror Module to communicate to a remote device.  Refractor tries to establish communications with the Mirror Module as soon as it is started.  Upon successful communications, a screen very similar to the one shown below appears.  The screen will be customized for the options that apply to your specific Mirror Module.

Simply choose the model of relay controller you plan to communicate with, and all the applicable options.  The help box (shown at the bottom of this window) changes as you move your mouse pointer over the different buttons, explaining what every option does.

The A/D functions shown below allow you to read voltages on 7 of the 8 input channels (available on Mirror Modules with 8 Input Channels ONLY).  You can activate relays when voltages fall inside our outside the preset limits.  Once you have configured the Mirror Module for your application, you can store the configuration.  The Test Configuration allows you to immediately test the Mirror Module settings.
Once you have verified all settings are correct, you will be controlling relays WITHOUT a computer.
